Malachai Pulido is a self-taught percussionist/drummer and composer from Los Angeles, California.
An accomplished musician, Malachai began his music career at the age of eleven. Since then, he has played in a number of obscure punk and metal bands in the Underground scenes of South Central and East LA.
Before cultivating his interest in composing for films, he began sketching short toy piano compositions for Instagram. He has also composed for piano, and done a handful of improvisations for piano and clarinet, adding percussion and rhythmic elements to further enhance the musical experience.
He is currently studying Music Production at the Los Angeles Film School (LAFS, a part of LARS), where he was taught Music for Media by Musician/Film Composer, Erik Jorgensen. On the side, Malachai privately studies piano with multi-instrumentalist and Crane School of Music alum, Jaemi Kehoe. He also independently studies and analyzes various film scores.
To date, he’s worked on various student projects scoring cues, composing trailer music, and doing sound design. He is currently working on scoring a short film due for private release.
